Addis – Ziway – Abijata Shalla – Langano – Addis
Early morning drive to the remarkable region of rift-valley lakes of and interesting ecosystem. The lakes are rich with fish and birds, including many endemic species. Lake Ziway – the largest Northern Ethiopian Rift-Valley Lake, is the home of five little volcanic islands, and you will have a chance to explore various species of water birds. Proceed to lakes Abijata and Shalla are separated by narrow, 3km dam. Despite the fact that so nearly located lakes are very different in case of the ecosystem. Shalla is the deepest lake in Ethiopia, probably the deepest in Africa north to the equator – 266m, and Lake Abijata is shallow-max, 14 meters. Its northern part is famous for hot waters and home for Pelicans and impressive flocks of flamingos. Our last spot will be Lake Langano, a bilharzia free lake because of a specific water reaction. Late drive back to Addis, OR as per your interest you will have stay overnight for more visit.
